I was born in 1983, on the first hot day of the year, from a quick and happy birth where the body led the way. I grew up as the quiet girl who didn't make waves... except when I saw an injustice happen. That instinct to protect those in need has always been a part of me.
Before becoming a Doula, my world was Advertising and Marketing. I wore many hats, lived in different places, and got to know my own extremes: I went through fearless and adventurous phases, but also moments when shyness and fear got the better of me. Today I know that all those ‘Sofias’ prepared me to welcome real women, with all their light and shadows.
The real awakening happened in 2017, when I became a mother to Afonso. My first birth left scars and showed me the pain of lacking information and a voice. I realized that birth shouldn't be a scenario built on fear. That restlessness turned into a purpose, and the arrival of my second son, Martim, in 2023, was living proof of it: a reclamation of my power and the confirmation that giving birth can (and must) be a transformative and respected experience.
I marvel every day at the wisdom of our bodies and the strength of our intuition. My purpose is to help you reconnect with that essence. From me, you can expect clear information, active listening, deep respect, and a lot of nurturing care to support you on this journey into parenthood.
